My name is Ben and I'm the founder and owner of TURR. I have a huge passion for animals, be it learning about them, raising them, or rescuing them. What started as a fun hobby of backyard farming and animal rescue at Baylor University led to a lifestyle and vision for this rescue. I'm currently working on my wildlife rehab permit to run our own practice and will continue to rescue farm animals and domestics until then and long after. I currently do most of the rescue work and most of the social media management--but I'm looking forward to moving to our new facility and working with our team.
Hi, my name is Tabby! While in college I had the privilege to help raise several chicks, ducks, and other little animal friends like Geronimo the pigeon and a sweet rescue kitten. On top of making sure they were taken care of, Ben and I took on a project of rehoming pigeons away from the parking garages where they were causing harm to people’s cars. We were able to safely capture, transport, and release these birds onto a ranch where they could live a life with other wildlife instead of in an urban environment where they are looked down upon. Outside of the rescue ranch I’ve had the experience of purchasing and rehabbing my own home here in Waco. That journey has provided me with expertise I’ll be able to utilize as the Facilities Director to enable the ranch to run smoothly and grow as effectively as possible.
Hi I’m Gavin! I’m from Hangzhou, China and I’ve been helping Ben raise and rescue animals for a couple years now! I’m a grad student at Baylor and I’m currently running the financial side of things on the rescue ranch! My job is to ensure that donations are being stewarded in the most efficient way possible. I’ve always loved animals since I was a little kid and I’m happy to be able to work with them a lot more! Say hi if you see me around!
Hi I’m Tank! I've been helping Ben rescue and rehome animals for about a year now and it never seems to get old... As the Operations Manager I ensure that our funding and resources are used in the most appropriate and cost effective ways. I'm also a pretty good welder and I can fix just about anything. I'm an avid outdoorsman, and I enjoy doing redneck stuff. Say hi when you see me around!
